About the cottage
The Old Workshop is a conversion of an old farm building in the yard of the ancient farmhouse which is our home.
Architectural details suggest the farmhouse dates back to the 17th century, with tree-ring dating of beams from the farmhouse suggesting the trees used for the beams were felled in 1662.
The farmhouse is recorded on Thorpe’s map of “Bath and Five Miles Round” 1742.
About us
The Old Workshop is hosted by Alison and Andrew who live in the farmhouse next door. We have lived and worked in Bath for 25 years, and our children grew up here. We are very happy to provide suggestions about things to do or places to eat while you are here with us.
We share our home with Inka, a black Hovawart dog, who is very friendly, though she is likely to bark when you first arrive to let us know we have visitors.
